Harvick Second in Coca-Cola 600

Share: Kevin Harvick’s runner-up finish to Martin Truex Jr. Sunday in the Coca-Cola 600 was quite the accomplishment given the winner’s dominance. On a night when Truex Jr. set NASCAR marks for most laps and miles led in a Sprint Cup Series race, Harvick’s second place finish wasn’t that bad a performance. Especially given how adjustments made Harvick’s car better as the race went on. “We struggled tonight,” said Harvick. “Our Jimmy John’s Chevrolet was not very good in the first; I would say 450 miles of this particular race. Rodney (Childers, crew chief) and everybody on our team did a great job to do whatever they did with the air pressure and just told me it was a really big adjustment. The last couple of runs I got tight.
