All systems go for Lorenzen after live BP

MILWAUKEE — As he works back from a right elbow strain and mononucleosis, Reds pitcher Michael Lorenzen’s rehab program has gone swimmingly. Lorenzen threw to hitters in live batting practice in Arizona on Friday, the latest step in his recovery plan.
“He’s to that point now where he’s going to be firing in a ballgame. That’s great news,” Reds manager Bryan Price said on Saturday.
Lorenzen is scheduled to throw two innings in an extended spring game at the club’s facility in Goodyear, Ariz.
Still undetermined is the role Lorenzen might have for the Reds when he is ready to come off the 60-day disabled list. Entering camp, he was set to compete for a rotation spot, but he …
