Sonnen: Jacare should be removed from rankings for turning down title fight

Chael Sonnen is no stranger to controversial opinions, and his thoughts on the middleweight title situation in the UFC might qualify as controversial. When Chris Weidman was forced out of his UFC 199 title fight with Luke Rockhold, the UFC called top contender Ronaldo Souza to take his place. Souza, despite coming off a quick win over Vitor Belfort, turned down the bout due to a knee injury and it ultimately went to Michael Bisping instead.
As a recent guest on The MMA Hour, Sonnen expressed his dissatisfaction with Jacare turning down the the fight – to the point that he thinks Souza should be removed from the UFC rankings (via MMA Fighting):
