Nadal pulls out of French Open with wrist injury

PARIS — Nine-time champion Rafael Nadal has pulled out of the French Open with a left wrist injury, he announced Friday.
The left-handed Nadal wore a blue brace on his wrist as he made the hastily arranged announcement, which he called “one of the toughest press conferences in my career.”
The Spaniard was scheduled to play his third-round match against Marcel Granollers on Saturday.
