ROLAND GARROS Day Four Men’s Singles: And Murray wins another Wringer!

Day four saw some interesting match-ups as the draw narrowed down.
Andy Murray played his second round match, on the third straight day after having played a lengthy and exhausting first round against Radek Stepanek, against French wild card Mathias Bourgue. Murray won the first set easily 6-2, only to find himself under immense trouble as the 22-year old swept the second set 6-2. The third set saw the Scot’s struggles exacerbate as the Frenchman came up with a brilliant tactical plan to keep his tactics at bay. He regained his rhythm in the fourth set and did well to win it 6-2, and kept the momentum up in the fifth as well. But the match wasn’t so easily done as Murray found himself crucially broken while serving for the match at 5-1, only to see Bourgue narrow the gap to 5-3. But Murray finally got the job done in the eighth game, while trying to serve for the second time in the match.Alexander Zverev had to battle past Pierre-Hugues Herbert in a lengthy first round match that had been rescheduled over the course of two days to reach the second round. It was the 18-year old German’s first win in a Major. In the second round, he will play another Frenchman, Stephane Robert. Zverev lost the opening set 7-5, but recovered his momentum to win the second set convincingly by a 6-2 margin.
