Reynolds cautions against trappings of Fenway

BOSTON — Mark Reynolds was well aware of the fact that he could potentially cross a baseball milestone during the Rockies 8-3 loss to the Red Sox on Tuesday night. All he needed was one hit, and a line drive into center field in the fourth inning earned the first baseman his 1,000th career hit.
“It’s pretty cool. I never thought I’d be able to get one hit in the big leagues, so to be able to get 1,000 is pretty neat,” Reynolds said.
It was appropriate for the 32-year-old to earn it at Fenway Park, where he’s always hit well. Reynolds has 33 hits, 18 runs, 25 RBIs and eight home runs in 32 games in his career here.
Reynolds also took pride in the fact that he recorded one of the five hits given up by Red Sox ace David Price. Entering the game, he was batting .235 with three homers, six RBIs and four walks against the lefty.
