Capitals and MSE Foundation Volunteers Visit Fort Dupont for Service Project

ARLINGTON, Va. – Washington Capitals head coach Barry Trotz, Capitals wives Mandy Alzner, Brandi Holtby, Katie Niskanen, Kim Trotz and Taylor Winnik, Red Rockers, Slapshot and 100 fans participated in a Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation service project to help spruce up Fort Dupont Ice Arena in Southeast Washington, D.C., on May 14.
Saturday marked the seventh-consecutive year that the Capitals and their fans have joined together to help clean up and make improvements at Fort Dupont. Volunteers painted the locker rooms, hallways and bathrooms, waxed the boards, cleaned the glass, put together goals and cleaned and organized hockey equipment inside the arena. Outside volunteers cleaned and mulched tree boxes and flower beds and weeded and swept the parking lot and sidewalks.
