Duke’s Carta wins golf title with record-low score

EUGENE, Ore. — Duke freshman Virginia Elena Carta won the NCAA individual title Monday for her first college victory, closing with a 3-under 69 and an eight-shot victory.
The Blue Devils were among the eight teams that advanced to match play, which starts Tuesday at Eugene Country Club.
