NCAA Women’s Golf Championships 2016: Monday Results and Leaderboard Standings

The UCLA Bruins and Stanford Cardinal will enter the final stage of the 2016 NCAA Women’s Golf Championships with plenty of confidence after impressive showings in stroke play.

The two Pac-12 schools were well ahead of the pack when play concluded in Eugene, Oregon, on Monday.

Here is a look at the standings:

Per the NCAA’s official website, the event started off with 24 qualifying teams and 12 individuals participating in 54 holes of stroke play. The top 15 teams and nine individuals from non-advancing schools then competed Monday for an additional day of stroke play.

The nine individuals, along with the top eight teams, will then engage in match play to decide a champion. Match play will take place Tuesday and Wednesday.

Oregon finished at eight over par for the day, which nearly sunk its championship hopes. If not for Oklahoma State faltering on the final few holes, the Ducks’ season would be over.

Oregon will have a tough road to win the championship at home. UCLA is the top-ranked team in women’s golf and looks to be in peak form heading into the season’s final stretch.
