Nick Kyrgios: ‘If I did what Djokovic had done in Rome, it would have been an absolute circus’

It was not an easy match today for Nick Kyrgios against Marco Cecchinato. The Australian won in straight sets but had a tough win. At the end of the first set, Kyrgios yelled at a ball boy for a towel and received a code violation. He was angry with the decision taken by the umpire, Carlos Ramos and made a reference to Djokovic’s incident in Rome involving Carlos Bernardes. In his post-match press conference, Kyrgios repeated his rationale and said, ‘I think we all know in this room if that was me who did that, it would be an absolute circus. But if he did it, you know, nothing really happened of it. It speaks for itself.’
