Mets give Steven Matz just enough offense to win in return

NEW YORK — Steven Matz was rolling along, putting to rest any concerns about the elbow and forearm issue that caused him to miss a turn in the New York Mets’ rotation.
Matz was rolling along in the sixth inning Friday night, but the Mets weren’t winning. Their faltering offense, which has gotten something of a pass because of all the focus on the starting rotation, especially Matt Harvey, was faltering again against Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Wily Peralta.
