2016 NCAA Division I Women’s Championship: Golden Bears blanks the Lady Raiders to advance to last 8

Best-ranked school in the States, California Golden Bears, safely reached the quarter-final of 2016 NCAA Division I Women’s Championship at Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa after dispatching Texas Tech Lady Raiders 4-0. The Lady Raiders have played in the last 16 of the NCAA for the second year in a row, but despite their most successful season (25 wins) they could not counter great rivals, losing the 8 quick sets to end the season here. The Golden Bears continues with a great run in 2016, with 22-1 so far, reaching the first NCAA quarter-final after 3 years absence. The match was delayed for 3 hours and was moved indoors, so the first meeting between these two schools started after 7pm. Lynn Chi/Maria Smith opened the action for the favorite team, beating Sarah Dvorak/Katelyn Jackson 6-2 on court 3 and they were soon followed by Klara Fabikova/Olivia Hauger who ousted Sabrina Federici/Felicity Maltby by the same score, sending …
