French Open security tightened in wake of attacks

PARIS — Security will be tighter than ever at the French Open in the wake of deadly attacks in Paris in November 2015.
The French tennis federation (FFT) said there will be three mandatory checkpoints for entry into the Roland Garros tennis complex during the clay-court Grand Slam tournament, and spectators will be subjected to systematic body searches.
The FFT declined to give the precise number of security agents being deployed, saying only that it is up by 25 percent compared to last year.
There will also be two perimeters of barriers outside the venue, and police sniffer dogs will be used.
