2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Championship: Cavaliers reach Round 16 for the 13th straight year

Defending NCAA Division I Men’s Championship title holders, Virginia Cavaliers, are safely through to the last 16 of this year’s competition, for the 13th year running! They took down Penn State Nittany Lions by 4-1 at Snyder Tennis Center, controlling the tie from start to finish. Virginia will now travel to Tulsa where the 16 best teams will fight for the national crown in the range of 5 days, from 20-24 May. Ryan Shane/Luca Corinteli, 4th best doubles pair in the States, get the match underway with a 6-3 triumph against David Kohan/Christian Lutschaunig on the main court. J.C. Aragone/Collin Altamirano soon followed them with the same score versus Matt Galush/Aws Laaribi on court 3 to wrap up the first point for the Cavaliers. On court 2, Matt Barry/Leonard Stakhovsky were fighting strongly against the favorite pair of Thai-Son Kwiatkowski/Mac Styslinger, leading 5-4 before the match was abandoned.
