Belinda Bencic has not recovered enough to be able to play the French Open. The Swiss has been suffering from a back injury since more than a month and will be replaced by American Lauren Davis as an alternate.
Bencic is expected to return to the Tour during the grass season, in Eastbourne. The teenager has had a mixed season so far. She reached the semi-finals in Sydney, fourth round ound at the Australian Open and the finals in St. Petersburg.
