Knee soreness could land Phegley on DL

OAKLAND — A’s catcher Josh Phegley missed his sixth consecutive game Monday because of right knee soreness and manager Bob Melvin did not rule out a trip to the disabled list.
Phegley has not played since May 9 and underwent an MRI test last week after complaining of pain behind his knee. He received a cortisone shot Friday and Melvin said that Phegley is making progress, albeit slowly.
“He’s getting better each and every day,” Melvin said. “We’re getting to a point here now where if he’s not able to play this weekend then maybe we have to potentially look at doing something with him.
