2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Championship: Longhorns prevailes over Aggies after titanic battle!

Before they even started, it was clear that Texas A&M Aggies and Texas Longhorns will play one of the best matches of 2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Championship, and it for sure didn’t disappoint. The battle at Mitchell Tennis Center was on for 2 days due to weather difficulties, and it all came down to a tie break of the third set of the final 7th match! In the end, the Longhorns manages to prevail and advance to the last 16 where they will play against Ohio State. Thus, Michael Center, the head coach of Texas, will lead his team to NCAA round of 16 for the 10th time in his 16 seasons, with final in 2008 and semi-finals in 2006 and 2009. After completing doubles matches and first set in singles too, the tie was abandoned with lightning and rain and was resumed the day after. The Aggies came down from a 3-1 deficit but they couldn’t make the complete turnaround. Max Lunkin/Arthur Rinderknech opened the match well for the Aggies, beating John Mee/Harrison Scott 6-4 on court 3. The Longhorns responded by the same measure on court 2, where Adrian Ortiz/Julian Zlobinsky defeated Harrison Adams/Shane Vinsant 6-4 to keep their team in contention, with the final action carried to the main court.
