A review of Monday’s meeting at Redcar as Show Palace continued his winning spree for Jennie Candlish.
Show Palace began his season the way he signed off the last campaign by continuing his winning spree at Redcar in the Watch Racing UK In HD Handicap.
A winner of three of his final four outings in 2015 for Jennie Candlish, he showed he had come on again when beating Kiringa by three-quarters of a length.
Sent off the 7-2 favourite in the hands of Graham Lee, the three-year-old made all the running and was a cosy winner.
“He’s got a great attitude, all he wants to do is the best he can,” said Candlish’s assistant Alan O’Keeffe.
“When we gelded him I felt a bit sorry for him, but it hasn’t changed him one bit, he’s kept his character.
“Today was his first handicap on quicker ground and now that he’s won on it, it opens up more options.
