Jake McCabe scored his first goal of the tournament as Team USA dropped a 3-2 decision to Germany on Sunday at the 2016 IIHF World Championship in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Korbinian Holzer netted the game-winner with 33 seconds left in the third. Germany jumps ahead of the U.S. in the standings and they now sit in third place in Group B with 10 points to the Americans’ nine. Slovakia is right behind with six points.
The top four teams in each pool will advance to the quarterfinals.
