The Wake Forest men’s tennis team progressed in the NCAA Championships with a come-from-behind 4-2 victory over 24th-ranked Michigan in the second round of the national tournament at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
The sixth-seeded Demon Deacons fell behind, 2-0, but reeled off four-consecutive singles wins to extend their season. Christian Seraphim’s 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 triumph at No. 5 singles sealed the win. Wake Forest will next take on No. 11 Oklahoma in the round of 16 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla. The Wolverines gained an early advantage in the match by rallying to win the doubles point. The No. 13-ranked duo of Seraphim and Skander Mansouri rolled to a 6-2 win at the top position, but Michigan negated match points at the second and third spots and pulled out tiebreaker wins in both matches to take a 1-0 lead. …
