2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Championship: Longhorns sweeps Cardinals in the first round

It was a rock solid opening of 2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Championship for Texas Longhorns, as they swept Lamar Cardinals 4-0 at George P. Mitchell Tennis Center to advance to the second round. This was the 4th consecutive year that the Longhorns have passed the first round, and they will now face Texas A&M in what will be a very interesting tie. The Longhorns needed just 25 minutes to wraps up the doubles point and they never looked back, scoring 3 easy singles wins as well. Adrian Ortiz/Julian Zlobinsky have launched the campaign with a 6-2 triumph over Jeandre Hoogenboezem/Nikita Lis on court 2, followed by John Mee/Harrison Scott who added the same score versus Juuso Laitinen/Sebastian Santibanez to deliver the first point for the hosts.
