Vasilevskiy steps up for injury-riddled Lightning

Now it appears both teams may be relying on a young goaltender.
So far, so good for the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Andrei Vasilevskiy made 25 saves in relief as the Lightning won Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals with a 3-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday.
Vasilevskiy recorded his second career playoff win, with both coming in relief as he also picked up the win in Game 2 of the 2015 Stanley Cup finals. According to Elias Sports Bureau research, the only other goalie in playoff history whose first two career postseason wins were in relief was Olaf Kolzig, who won the two games over the 1995 and 1996 postseasons.
Vasilevskiy came up big in the third period when he stopped all 16 shots he faced with the Lightning holding a two-goal edge. Pittsburgh outshot Tampa Bay by a 35-20 margin overall.
