Bishop exits Game 1 due to leg; X-rays negative

PITTSBURGH — Lightning goalie Ben Bishop had to be stretchered off the ice during Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Penguins on Friday night because of a left leg injury.
Lightning coach Jon Cooper said after Tampa Bay’s 3-1 win that Bishop was checked by doctors and that X-rays came back negative, “so we’re hoping for the best.”
“Nothing structurally wrong, which is a relief,” Cooper said.
With 7:35 left in a scoreless first, Bishop, a finalist for the Vezina Trophy as the league’s top goaltender, was scrambling around the Tampa Bay net during a Pittsburgh forecheck and seemed to hurt himself as he fell to the ice. Bishop immediately grabbed at his left …
