Johns Hopkins conquers the Centennial Conference title, dispatching Swarthmore 5-1

For the 6th time in the last 8 years, it was a battle between Johns Hopkins Blue Jays and Swarthmore Garnet in the final of the Centennial Conference championship at Faulkner Courts in Swarthmore, with Blue Jays continuing their amazing run. They beat the great rivals 5-1 to clinch the 10th straight Centennial title and 11th overall. This title brings them just one title behind Washington College, who stays on 12 titles after not being victorious since 2006 (Hopkins has won every title since then). This victory also sends the Blue Jays to the NCAA National tournament, with Swarthmore also eligible for an at-large bid. Johns Hopkins’ senior Nicholas Garcia was named the tournament MVP after 4 wins this weekend. The Blue Jays had an additional motive in this match, after losing to the Garnet in April following their amazing run of 84 consecutive conference wins!
