Odor becoming force at top of lineup

DETROIT — Texas Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor is doing his best to prove his second-half outburst last season wasn’t simply a fluke.
Odor continued to swing a hot bat Friday night, going 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs to help lead the Rangers to a 5-1 series-opening win over the Tigers at Comerica Park.
It was the team-high fifth home run for Odor, who added a two-run double in the ninth inning to give the Rangers a much-needed five-run cushion with the top of Detroit’s lineup due up.
