Olympic golfers begin more drug, blood testing

The 2016 Olympic Games in Rio will feature golf for the first time and with Olympic golf comes Olympic drug testing.
The testing program began for the golfers currently qualified for the 2016 Olympic golf field on Friday, and it is a more rigorous testing policy than the PGA Tour’s. The two biggest differences for are that PGA Tour players competing are subject to blood tests and also must keep officials informed of their wheeabouts at all times out of competition.
The blood testing has not come up as an issue for anyone to this point, as athletes regularly visit doctors and have tests run. The bigger hurdle is the whereabouts requirements.
