Mickelson in hunt as he seeks 1st win since ’13

Phil Mickelson has not won on the PGA Tour since 2013 British Open, but Lefty is lurking near the top of the leaderboard at the Wells Fargo Championship heading into the weekend.
After a second-round 70, Mickelson has put himself in contention at 5 under for the tournament. Mickelson, who started on the back nine on Friday, went out in 34 and got as low as 6 under with a birdie on the 7th — his 16th of the tournament — before giving a stroke back on his final hole of the day.
If he’s going to win, he’ll need to do a better job of hitting fairways and greens, as he’s hit only 10-of-28 fairways and 20-of-36 …
