Padres scouts to attend Lincecum’s showcase

SAN DIEGO — The Padres will have multiple experienced scouts at Tim Lincecum’s showcase in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Friday afternoon.
In the words of manager Andy Green, “We’ll be well represented any time there’s a potential pitcher who could affect our big league club.”
It remains unclear whether Lincecum, a two-time Cy Young Award winner, can still be that kind of pitcher. But the Padres aren’t the only team interested in finding out. More than half the league is expected to attend Lincecum’s glorified bullpen session.
Lincecum no-hit the Padres in both 2013 and ’14. He posted a 4.13 ERA in 15 starts last season before requiring left hip surgery. On Friday, Lincecum will first need to prove that he’s put any lingering effects from that surgery in the …
