Who’s HOT at Kansas • Kevin Harvick has posted one win, two runner-up finishes and has led the most laps (392) in the last five races. • Joey Logano and Matt Kenseth are the only multiple winners in the seven races since Kansas was repaved. • Defending race winner Jimmie Johnson has finished ninth or better in 13 of the last 14 races, including two additional wins. • Kyle Busch has finished in the top five in his last two starts. • Dale Earnhardt Jr. has finished in the top five in the last two spring races. • Brad Keselowski (2011 winner) and Kurt Busch each finished in the top 10 in both races last season.
Who to Keep an Eye On at Kansas • Martin Truex Jr., who led 95 laps in this event last season, has led the most laps (175) in the three races this season at 1.5-mile tracks with the lower-downforce package. • Carl Edwards (10.0) and Austin Dillon (11.7) each rank in the top 10 in average finish in the three races at 1.5-mile tracks this season. • Chase Elliott has finished in the top 10 in two of the three races at 1.5-mile tracks this season. • Kasey Kahne and Paul Menard have posted respective average finishes of 9.6 and 11.9 since Kansas was repaved. • Johnson, Truex and Aric Almirola participated in the Kansas Goodyear Tire test last fall. • Denny Hamlin, winner of the 2012 spring race, has finished in the top 10 in two of his last three Kansas starts. He is still looking for his first top 10 of the season at a 1.5-mile track.
