Seahawks: Lynch officially on reserve/retired list

The Marshawn Lynch era in Seattle is officially over.
The running back announced his retirement during the Super Bowl in February, but he remained on the Seahawks’ roster until Thursday, when the team announced it had placed him on the reserve/retired list.
Lynch’s contract originally carried a cap hit of $11.5 million for 2016, but with this transaction, that number shrinks to $5 million, essentially creating $6.5 million in cap space for the Seahawks.
