49ers players praise Gabbert for ‘taking control’

It’s 2016 and Blaine Gabbert is heading into the summer as a legitimate candidate to start for an NFL team.
Colin Kaepernick is not only injured, he’s also facing an uncertain future with the 49ers, even if trade talks with the Broncos are officially dead. The front office drafted Jeff Driskel this past weekend, but Driskel is nothing more than a developmental prospect with a very slim chance of turning into a pro-caliber quarterback. Thad Lewis is on the roster, but he’s Thad Lewis.
So, how’s Gabbert sounding now?
According to tight end Garrett Celek, Gabbert is “taking control” of the team.
