Big Papi to play himself in movie “Patriots Day”

CHICAGO — Before Tuesday’s game against the Chicago White Sox, Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz discussed his decision to appear in the upcoming movie, “Patriots Day,” a film which will revisit the events of the terrorist attack on the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013.
Ortiz will play himself to re-enact his speech subsequently addressing fans in Fenway Park on April 20, 2013, stating, “This is our [expletive] city. And nobody’s going to dictate our freedom.
