Hardy headed to DL with fractured foot

BALTIMORE — Orioles shortstop J.J. Hardy is expected to be placed on the disabled list after Monday’s CT scan revealed a small fracture in his left foot.
The initial timetable for Hardy is six to eight weeks. He left Sunday’s game after five innings after fouling a ball off his foot. Though the early diagnosis was a contusion, manager Buck Showalter said after the game that the club had wanted to check into a few things it saw on Hardy’s initial X-ray.
With the DL move, the O’s are expected to recall Ryan Flaherty from Triple-A Norfolk. The versatile infielder wasn’t …
