Sunday Briefing: DaGoddfather Wins Second Sunday Million Title
- Updated: May 2, 2016
Any online poker tournament player worth their salt wants to win the PokerStars Sunday Million. Not only does achieving such a feat come with a huge cash prize, but the champion also has bragging rights among peers.
In August 2011, “DaGoddfather” was part of a three-way chop in the Sunday Million before he went on to claim victory for $163,877.79. Fast forward almost five years, and he has gone and done it again, this time topping a field of 5,401 players to bank $168,945.98.
DaGoddfather’s win puts him in an elite club of only nine others who have won the Sunday Million twice in the 10 years it has been running. Jesper “KipsterDK” Hougaard, and Rob “robtinnion” Tinnion are just two of the 10 double Sunday Million winners.
Jonathon “whollydflush” Prested finished in second place in this week’s Sunday Million for a $125,843.30 score.
Another big winner at PokerStars this weekend was Greg “SeeYouAnte18” Chambers, who won the $1,050 Sunday Grand outright for $85,995, while Doug “dlanger610” Lang triumphed in the Sunday Warm-Up and collected $58,370.91 after a heads-up chop with “lipeabruzzi.”
Some of the other sizable wins at PokerStars this Sunday included:
