Pablo Carreno Busta advances to his second ATP final of career (all in 2016) after 6-3 6-3 victory against the 3rd seed Benoit Paire. It wasn’t very quality match, especially from the Frenchman, who served at 35% and managed to win barely 35% of the points on his serve, being broken 7 times! Carreno Busta had a much better percentage of the first serve in but he also struggled to the find rhythm in his games, losing serve 4 times and letting Paire take 50% of the return points. In 18 games there were 11 breaks of serve, with many ups and downs from each player. Paire played better in the opening games, building 3-0 lead after a double break. Nevertheless, Spaniard bounced back with two rock solid return games (Paire won one point in each of the games when he lost serve) and he never looked back, taking all of the remaining games to win the set 6-3 following the third consecutive break in game 8.
