Saints trade up to nab Buckeyes S Vonn Bell

New Orleans just made a pick that has “zero risk.” With the 61st overall pick in the NFL Draft on Friday, the Saints selected Ohio State safety Vonn Bell.
Bell might not be flashy, but he’ll definitely get the job done, plus, he’s the safest pick in the draft, at least according to Urban Meyer. At Ohio State’s Pro Day in March, Meyer told reporters that there would be “zero risk” for any team that ended up picking Bell in the draft.
The Saints clearly wanted Bell badly because they made a major trade to get him. The Saints moved up from the 78th pick to 61st in a trade with the Patriots. Besides giving the Patriots the 78th overall pick, the Saints also gave up a fourth-rounder (112th overall) to move up.
