Dillon’s Talladega Plan in Place

Share: Ty Dillon will pinch-hit for Tony Stewart this weekend at Talladega and knows exactly what his plan is for the GEICO 500. Win. Stewart will start on Sunday but will at some point get out of the car as he continues to play it safe in his return to racing after suffering a serious back injury in January. Dillon will take the wheel at that point and has only one goal once that happens. “Like I said earlier this week in an interview, I haven’t started a race without the goal of winning my entire career,” Dillon said Friday morning at Talladega. “That is what my focus is. “As soon as I get strapped into that race car I’m planning on going to the front and hopefully winning the race. If it all comes together and we do win the race, I’m sure it will be a heck of a party and everybody is going to be happy.” Dillon has filled in before in the No. 14 ride during Stewart’s time away from the sport.
