ATP ESTORIL and ISTANBUL: Good start for Edmund, Chung, and Khachanov

French veteran Paul-Henri Mathieu won his 8th match of the season after beating Gastao Elias 6-3 6-4 in an hour and a half of play. Portuguese claimed Challenger title on Sunday in Turin and probably couldn’t performed better in this match, losing almost 50% of the points on his serve. Mathieu broke him 4 times but Elias also had his share of chances, converting only 2 break points out of 7 he had. Mathieu quickly gained a 5-1 lead in the first set after a double break, Elias pulled one back but that was enough only for 6-3 loss. Better-ranked player built a 4-2 lead in the second set before Elias bounced back, leveling the score at 4-4 after break in game 8. In the next game, he was 40-15 up but Mathieu somehow managed to break and to finish the match with a love service game.British youngster Kyle Edmund notched ATP win on his 3rd consecutive tournament, ousting experienced Spaniard Daniel …
