What Role Will Wilfrid Kaptoum Be Playing for Barcelona in 12 Months’ Time?

It’s a cliche, but anything can happen in football.
Any combination of injuries, departures or drops in form for Andres Iniesta, Ivan Rakitic, Arda Turan, Rafinha or Sergi Roberto, and Wilfred Kaptoum will be up next.
That’s a lot of team-mates he has to plough through to get into Barcelona’s starting lineup, but we do know Luis Enrique likes the 19-year-old midfielder.
That might be the only possible reason he stays at the club next season waiting for this chance, because there’s little benefit for him to keep plying his trade in Group 3 of Segunda B.
Barcelona B aren’t getting promoted back to Segunda A, and Kaptoum would develop quicker playing regular football in Spain’s top flight.
Like Denis Suarez and Alen Halilovic, he could be sent out to one of the club’s La Liga rivals next season and, just as the two attacking midfielders before him did, improve rapidly.
Kaptoum plays similarly in style to Andres Iniesta—albeit the youngster is obviously a long way beneath the heights of the Spaniard.
The Cameroonian star is extremely creative with the ball at his feet, and boy does it stick there once it’s within his control.
