Harper launches pinch-hit, game-tying homer

WASHINGTON — Bryce Harper crushed a game-tying, pinch-hit solo home run in the ninth inning off Kevin Jepsen to force extra innings on Sunday afternoon against the Twins.
From the moment Harper — who was in the midst of his first off-day after playing in every game this season — appeared from the dugout ready to pinch-hit with the Nationals down a run in the ninth, the crowd of 35,397 fans at Nationals Park erupted in applause.
