Tennis’ Brush with Drugs and Doping: The Five Most Controversial Cases

Maria Sharapova is the latest name in a series of players, who have either failed their doping tests or have skipped them altogether. Before her, some of the other important players, who have had similar issues were Richard Gasquet and Marin Cilic. The problem however doesn’t stop with doping alone. Many players have also been found to, or have admitted to, have used drugs. Just think of Andre Agassi and Martina Hingis. But all the cases are very different from each other, and should be analyzed separately, in order to understand the dynamics of these aspects. Maria Sharapova The beautiful Siberian, who’s won five Grand Slam titles, on March 7th, in a press conference, announced that she had tested positive for a banned drug, Meldonium during the Australian Open 2016.
