Fu needs four more frames for a place in the quarter-finals
Hong Kong’s Marco Fu maintained his two-frame lead over Scotland’s Anthony McGill, but had to resist a stirring fightback to go 9-7 ahead in their second-round World Championship match.
Qualifier McGill, 25, trailed overnight but found the fluent form which made him a surprise Crucible quarter-finalist last season to score three half-tons and lead 6-5.
