W2W4: Pittsburgh Penguins at New York Rangers, Game 4

NEW YORK — The Pittsburgh Penguins lead their first-round series against the New York Rangers 2-1 and will be looking to push the Blueshirts to the edge of elimination with a win at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night (7 ET). Here’s a look at what to watch for in Game 4:
For the first time in this series, there is relative calm on the injury front. Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury did not skate Thursday morning and was absent from practice on Wednesday, although Pittsburgh coach Mike Sullivan insisted Thursday morning that Fleury is still considered day-to-day. Fleury’s absence would be an issue if it weren’t for the play of Matt Murray, who will get his second consecutive start in goal for the Penguins and was more than capable in earning his first postseason victory in Game 3.
There were no setbacks for Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh, who returned from a hand injury to play Game 3. New York coach Alain Vigneault insisted that McDonagh’s hand is fine and it isn’t hampering his ability to log his usual minutes in all situations. Defenseman Dan Girardi does not appear to be close to returning even though he has been skating with the team. Forward Viktor Stalberg is fine despite having three teeth knocked out by a Kris Letang high stick in Game 3.
