Sweden – Ludvig Hakanson selected the top Swedish players playing abroad in last week’s games

We bring you last week’s top performances from Swedish players who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. Ludvig Hakanson    #1. This week’s number one is an international point guard Ludvig Hakanson (190-96, currently plays in EuroCup). Hakanson could not help Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (0-1) to beat UCAM Murcia (1-0). He recorded 9 points and added 3 assists in 32 minutes on the court. But the third-placed Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (0-1) lost 75-87 on the road to the leading UCAM Murcia in the group E of Eurocup. This year Hakanson averages: 8.0ppg, 1.4rpg, 3.1apg, 2FGP: 44.1%, 3FGP: 35.9% in nine games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Swedish senior national team. Marcus Eriksson    #2. Second place goes to former international shooting guard Marcus Eriksson (201-93, currently plays in Spain). Eriksson managed to help FC Barcelona Lassa to win against the 12th-ranked CAI Zaragoza (5-9) 86-75 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Monday night’s game. He scored 5 points. FC Barcelona Lassa (11-3) is placed first in the Liga Endesa. This season Eriksson averages only 5.8ppg, 2FGP: 61.1%(11-18), 3FGP: 41.9%. He played for the Swedish national team in 2013. Jonathan Skjoldebrand    #3. The Swedish player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced former international power forward Jonathan Skjoldebrand (204-83, currently plays in Basketball Champions League). Skjoldebrand was not able to help Ironi Nahariya (3-8) in their last game. Despite his good performance Ironi Nahariya (#6) lost 67-73 at home to the leading Monaco in the group A of Basketball Champions League. Skjoldebrand scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 34 minutes. It was Ironi Nahariya’s fourth consecutive loss in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Basketball Champions League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Skjoldebrand’s overall stats are: 7.3ppg, 2.8rpg, 2FGP: 35.9%, 3FGP: 44.4% and FT: 85.7% in 12 games. He has a dual citizenship: Swedish and Israeli. Former Sodertalje Kings starter played for the Swedish national team four years ago. Viktor Gaddefors    #4. Small forward Viktor Gaddefors (201-92, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Italy) was not able to secure a victory for Juvecaserta (7-7) in their game against Scandone AV (10-4) in the Italian Serie A. Gaddefors scored 9 points. But Juvecaserta was defeated 86-82 in Avellino by the higher-ranked Scandone AV (#3). It was Juvecaserta’s fourth consecutive loss in a row. Gaddefors’ total stats this season are: 3.6ppg, 2.7rpg, 1.2apg and 1.3spg. He used to play for the Swedish national team back in 2013. Jonas Jerebko    #5. Former international power forward Jonas Jerebko (208-87, currently plays in NBA) contributed to a Boston Celtics’ victory against the New Orleans Pelicans (14-24) 117-108 in the NBA in Saturday night’s game. Jerebko recorded only 4 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 15 minutes. The Boston Celtics have a solid 23-14 record this season. It was his team’s fourth consecutive victory in a row. This year Jerebko’s total stats are: 4.5ppg and 3.3rpg in 37 games. He is a naturalized American. Jerebko used to play for the Swedish national team four years ago.
