Iceland – King’s double-double lands him D1 Player of the Week award

Urald King 26-year old forward Urald King (198-F-90) had a very impressive game in the last round for Valur and receives a Eurobasket.com D1 Player of the Week award for round 15.He had a double-double of 27 points and 13 rebounds, while his team crushed Hamar (#5, 5-8) with 16-point margin 108-92. Valur is placed at 3rd position in Icelandic D1. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Valur will need more victories to improve their 9-3 record. King turned to be Valur’s top player in his first season with the team. SE Oklahoma State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. King is in league’s top in points (8th best: 22.2ppg), rebounds (5th best: 11.3rpg) and averages solid 1.5bpg and 55.6% FGP.Second best performed player last round was Derek Shouse (188-G-93) of IA. He is American guard in his first season at IA. In the last game Shouse recorded impressive double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds.
