The game was mostly controlled by Gmunden Swans. UBSC Graz managed to win second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded UBSC Graz 39-26 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was naturalized German power forward Tilo Klette (206-77) who scored 24 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!). International forward Enis Murati (194-88, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Cameron Naylor (201-94, college: Texas St.) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds for the hosts. Gmunden Swans maintains second place with 11-4 record behind leader Oberwart. UBSC Graz at the other side keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Gmunden Swans are looking forward to face Arkadia Lions (#6) in Traiskirchen in the next round. UBSC Graz will play on the road against Kapfenberg Bulls and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident. The game with biggest result difference took place in Klosterneuburg. Local Dukes (4-11) lost to fifth ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (7-8) 78-64. American power forward Carl Baptiste (208-90, college: Delaware) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Kareem Jamar contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Kapfenberg Bulls’ coach Michael Schrittwieser allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Giorgi Bezhanishvili (-98) answered with 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for Dukes. Kapfenberg Bulls moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Vienna. Dukes lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Kapfenberg Bulls will play against UBSC Graz (#8) at home in the next round. Dukes will play against Furstenfeld Panthers and it may be a tough game between close rivals. In the last game of round 17 Arkadia were defeated by Wels in a road game 87-79.
