Hazen expects to be active over next few weeks

PHOENIX — Major League Baseball’s Hot Stove typically cools over the holidays, but with Spring Training just over a month away D-backs general manager Mike Hazen expects it to heat up again.
“I’m sure the conversations and the activity will pick up over the next few weeks,” Hazen said earlier this week.
This offseason the D-backs have added depth to the rotation with Taijuan Walker, signed Fernando Rodney to close games, and added some defense behind the plate with the signing of Jeff Mathis.
Still on Hazen’s to-do list is adding another reliever, possibly another catcher and a left-handed hitter.
“We like some of our internal options,” Hazen said of the bullpen. “We’re trying to build out as much depth to the bullpen as possible and we’re open-minded. However, we can get outs.”
