Finland – Desmond Williams claims Finnish Korisliiga weekly honour

DesmondWilliams American Desmond Williams (199-G-91) had a great game in the last round for league’s second-best Salon Vilpas and that’s him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 19.The 25-year old guard had a double-double of 32 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team edged out Korihait (#10, 4-14) 76-74. Salon Vilpas maintains the 2nd position in Finnish Korisliiga. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Salon Vilpas will need more victories to improve their 13-4 record. In the team’s last game Williams had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Salon Vilpas’ top player in his first season with the team. Southern Connecticut State University graduate has very impressive stats this year.
