Ukraine – Boyarkin number one in Ukraine for round 23

IgorBoyarkin Point guard Igor Boyarkin (182-PG-95) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Kryvbas, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 23.The 21-year old player got a double-double of 20 points and 11 assists, while his team crushed VolinBasket (#10, 3-17) with 16-point margin 81-65. Kryvbas is placed at 3rd position in Ukrainian Superleague. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Kryvbas will need more victories to improve their 14-5 record. It’s Boyarkin’s second year at Kryvbas and it’s hard to imagine this team without him. Igor Boyarkin has solid league stats. He is in league’s top in assists (2nd best: 5.8apg).The second best player in last round’s games was another Kryvbas’ star – 29-year old Vitali Malchevskiy (203-F-87). Malchevskiy had a very good evening with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Of course together with Boyarkin he helped Kryvbas with another comfortable win 81-65 over the lower-ranked VolinBasket (#10, 3-17) being unquestionably team leader.
