Sergio Aguero is the Premier League’s top scorer for the 2016 calendar year ahead of last season’s Golden Boot winner Harry Kane.
Manchester City striker Aguero was just beaten to the 2015/16 prize, scoring 24 goals compared to Kane’s 25, but has continued to find the net in the first half of the new campaign to record 27 top-flight strikes in 2016 with one game left to play.
The Argentine was on fire from January, scoring five times in City’s first four Premier League fixtures of the year, and has already struck 10 times in the new season.
Aguero is due back from suspension as City close the year with a mouthwatering tussle against Liverpool but even if he is not able to add to his tally, he is certain to finish as 2016’s most prolific top-flight goalscorer.
